By Jejje Muhinde;
Rayon Sports FC has announced the appointment of Burundian Francis Haringingo as their new head coach.
The Burundian coach left Kiyovu Sports last week after guiding them to a second place in the national league.
Sources (unconfirmed) from Rayon have said that the Burundi tactician has signed a one-year contract.
Prior to his stint with Kiyovu, the tactician had managed Huye-based side Mukura FC which saw him win the Peace Cup after defeating Rayon in the last match in 2018.
This earned Mukura a ticket to represent Rwanda in the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup when the club reached the group stage.
He also filled the vacant head post at Vital’O in his native Burundi, in addition to managing the law enforcers Police FC before being sacked in 2021.
Rayon Sports have already agreed with Haringingo Francis Christian, the former Kiyovu Sports coach, to coach him for one year.
Sources (unconfirmed ) in Rayon have revealed that Haringingo has agreed to bring in a team of coaches who will work with him, including his Kiyovu Sports teammates Claude Rwaka as the assistant coach, Vladimir Niyonkuru as the goalkeeping coach, and Pablo Nduwimana as the coach in charge of strengthening.
Rayon Sports finished fourth this season with 48 points out of 30 games played.
