Rwandan football assistant referee Bwiriza Nonati will serve a six-match suspension following his failure to award Rayon Sports a second clear goal in the clash against Mukura, the Rwandan Football Federation (FERWAFA) has announced.
Bwiriza disallowed the second goal scored by striker Musa Camara in the 46th minute of the 1-all draw against Mukura VS on Day 17 of the National League Championship played on January 28th, at Huye stadium.
Forward Camara scored the opening goal for the blues in the 10th minute of the first half. He later netted a second on the 46th minute when he tapped the ball to beat Mukura VS goalier, but the goal was disallowed by assistant ref when he raised his flag claiming the striker was offside.
As action continued, Mukuva VS equalized through Emmanual Nsabimana in the 61st minute and the game ultimately ended 1-1.
Rayon supporters were left furious, accusing Bwiriza for being biased during the game. They blasted Bwiriza following his failure to give them a second clear goal that could see them walk away with all three points.
According to the laws of the game and Ferwafa rules, the ref Bwiriza may and has the right to appeal the suspension.
