Rwanda’s ambitious plans to establish itself as a regional trade and logistics hub is on track as more professional logistics companies emerge heightening key services of the economy.
In 2018, Songa Logistics Ltd based in Gikondo, City of Kigali was established by certified logistics professionals joining the young yet key sector to boost the country’s economy through value-added logistics services.
Jean Bosco Songa, the Founder and CEO of the company underlined that after gaining vast knowledge, experience and a network started a logistics company to give his contribution in building the economy.
He explained that they deal in logistical operations of goods and commodities for both export and import.
“We also provide tax consultancy services especially customs related, clearing and forwarding, warehousing solutions as well as transportation.”
“We guide businesses in understanding the tax requirements before undertaking anything so that their operations can run smoothly with ample information,” Songa explains. This also includes the logistical prerequisites to help businesses make informed decisions.
As a logistics company, the services offered are the same as those of a clearing agency, freight forward or customs brokers for the goods that cross borders.
Songa Logistics Ltd mostly operate the Dar el Salam – Kigali as one of the busiest trade routes for Rwanda but the company reaches all ports to facilitate logistics of goods through partners to the Eastern African hinterland.
