The Football Association of Rwanda (FERWAFA) has suspended Olivier Niyonzima indefinitely from the national team Amavubi due to misconduct.
FERWAFA announced the decision on its official twitter on Tuesday, November 15, 2021, saying that he has been suspended from the national team for misconduct.
“We would like to inform those concerned that FERWAFA will not tolerate anyone who exhibits misconduct in Amavubi,”
The 28- year-old midfielder appeared in the last fixture for Amavubi against Kenya which ended 2-1 in favour of the host in Group E qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup Qatar.
It is not immediately clear why Seif was suspended from the national team. He was once rumored and alleged to be dipsomaniac with drinking while plying his trade for APR FC, an issue believed to be the reason for his suspension.
According to reports, the player did not spend the night at the Amavubi hotel in Nairobi, instead he came back in the wee hours so he did not get up with his teammates as they were preparing to return to Kigali.
Amavubi finished the round of qualifiers for the World Cup with one point from six games in Group E.
