Rugby: 1000 Hills coach says ‘Game was not easy for both sides’

Thousand Hills rugby club coach Jimmy Adams Mugabo says the game between Kigali Sharks and his side was not easy for both sides over the weekend.

The Gatenga based side, 1000 Hills beat arch- rivals Kigali Sharks to win by 12-9 points at the Croix Rouge Stadium in Kacyiru, Kigali.

Mugabo notes, “Kigali Sharks entered the game well, and won two penalties equal to six points, which we have never seen before, because the opportunities we got we shot the birds”.

“In the three games we have played, we have won two and lost one, but it continues to increase our strength to perform well in the upcoming games, because even though we prepare to win, our opponents are what they want, but our goal is to win everything and win the Cup”. He added

Sharks head coach Martin Rukundakuwawa on the other hand, says that they were not hurt by the defeat but the blows that hit them by the elbows besides the cards issued by the referee.

The win shifts the Hills to second place while Kigali Sharks drop to third position while they wait for the outcome of the next game to be held in Muhanga district.

In the other game played on that day, Lion de Fer beat Puma Kamonyi by 104-15 points at Remera Rukoma Stadium in Kamonyi district.
