The Rwanda National Police appointed a new spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Boniface Rutikanga. He was promoted to commissioner for public relations and the media, thereafter becoming spokesperson for the police.
Until his appointment, ACP Boniface Rutikanga was commissioner for peace support operations. Prior to that, he had been Deputy Spokesperson of the Rwanda National Police.
ACP Boniface Rutikanga replaces Police Commissioner (CP) John Bosco Kabera, who was appointed commissioner for infrastructure security and private security providers.
Kabera has been the Spokesperson since October 2018, he was most known during the difficult times of Covid-19 pandemic.
Specifically, Kabera was known for his campaign themes like the “Gerayo Amahoro” road safety program, the “Guma-Murugo” challenge during the Covid-19 pandemic lockdown, pollution reduction sound among others.
