The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Mr. Nasser Bourita, had a telephone conversation with the United States Special Envoy for Climate Change, Mr. John Kerry, on Wednesday, 31 March 2021.
During the conversation, Mr Kerry praised the commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to the fight against climate change.
“I personally felt the commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI (in the fight against climate change) when Morocco hosted the COP22” in Marrakech in 2016, Mr. Kerry said.
For the US envoy, Morocco is an important partner in the international fight against climate change.
“We look forward to deepening our partnership” on the road to Glasgow, which will host the 26th United Nations Conference of the Parties on climate change (COP26) from 1 to 12 November 2021, Mr. Kerry said.
