The Rwanda Meteorological Department has predicted occasional rainfall over a few areas in the country between August 15 and 20, 2023, depending on the nature of each place, such as mountains, forests, and lakes.
In a 10-day forecast for the second half of August 2023, Meteo Rwanda said that most of the Western and Northern Province areas will experience rainfall while the rest of the country will be sunny and dry.
The forecast indicated that the Musanze, Rubavu, and Nyabihu districts are expected to receive rain between 30 and 40 millimeters, as are some parts of the Rutsiro and Rusizi districts.
20–30 millimeters of rain are expected in the rest of Western Province, Burera and Musanze districts, the north of Gicumbi and Nyagatare districts, and the west of Nyaruguru and Nyamagabe districts.
Meteo-Rwanda continues to say that anywhere else in the country, especially in the East, in the City of Kigali, and in the South, between 0 and 20 millimeters of rain are expected.
The weather forecast also shows that large parts of Karongi, Rutsiro, and Nyamasheke regions near Lake Kivu and the west of Nyamagabe District will have strong winds with a speed of 8–10 meters.
