The Rwanda edition for the global green business ideas competition ClimateLaunchpad was launched last week on Thursday June 24th. The programme is set up to help aspiring entrepreneurs grow their cleantech ideas into global businesses.
Applications are encouraged from all entrepreneurs to join the competition through an online form (https://bit.ly/CLP21_application_form), this will go on until July 18th.
ClimateLaunchpad welcomes innovations in the themes of adaptation and resilience, circular economies, urban solutions, clean energy, sustainable mobility, and food systems as a way to tackle climate change.
Selected participants will start off their rigorous training with an intensive 3-half-days online boot camp and six coaching sessions to prepare them for the national finals. The top 3 from the finals will compete on the regional level and have a chance to pitch on the global level after that.
The best ideas on the global stage will win access to the Climate-KIC’s Accelerator, a programme focused at cleantech commercialization. Also, there will be cash prizes that help the most viable start-ups move forward with their businesses in order to create impact.
ClimateLaunchpad is part of the Entrepreneurship offerings of EIT Climate-KIC, the EU’s main climate innovation initiative. Impact Hub Kigali is the Rwanda National Lead for the ClimateLaunchpad competition.
