The Rwanda Football Federation (Ferwafa) election committee has cleared one person as an aspirant seeking to contest for president on June 24.
According to the document of screened candidates, ex-provincial governor Alphonse Munyentwali, who is also the president of Police FC will be the lone candidate.
He was the former governor of Southern and Western Provinces, as well as the mayor of Nyamagabe District in 2015.
Ferwafa interim boss Marcel Matiku Habyarimana and Richard Mugisha are also the sole aspirants for the first and second Vice-President positions respectively.
Ex-Rayon Sports president Chance Denis Gacinya, Fideel Kanamugire and Eugene Rukundo were disqualified from contesting.
Gacinya was cleared to compete for the post of vice-chair for technical services.
The vote will be held on June 24, to replace former president Olivier Mugabo Nizeyimana who resigned from office on April 19 citing personal reasons.
The FA campaigns for qualified candidates will officially kickoff on June 14 before concluding on June 23 a day before the elections.
