From traditional West African highlife music to modern-day Afrobeat R&B, if you needed proof that Davido, is one of the hottest pop groups in Africa, then Kigali, is where you should have been on Saturday night.
Over the weekend, in a fully sold out BK Arena, the Nigerian rocked up the festival of “Giants of Africa” with a spectacular performance.
The concert which started at 3:00pm was graced by over 10,000 fans including the Rwandan President Paul Kagame and his family.
It featured an array of award winning frontlines artists including Tiwa Savage, Bruce Melodie, and Tyla.
South African singer, songwriter and dancer Tyla stepped on the stage first and performed a number of her Amapiano songs, including ‘Water’ and ‘Getting Late’.
Bruce Melody, the Rwandan hitmaker also excited the audience with 12 songs including last year’s hit “Inzoga n’Ibebi before Davido stepped on stage.
Backed by his band, Davido headlined the concert with a captivating performance for the crowd performing songs such as Skelewu fever outbreak, Blow Mind, Jowo, Assurance, Electricity, Unavailable, Fia, Over dem, 1 Milli, and High, songs that brought him into the limelight.
Tiwa Savage set the crowd into a frenzy when she performed; Somebody’s Son, Overloading, Koroba, and No Wahala, and she wound up with; Who is Your Guy thanking the fans and organizers.
The concert was organized to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Giants of Africa.
