Donatille Mukabalisa, Rwanda Speaker of Parliament was over the weekend December 11 re-elected for her second term as the president of the Liberal Party (PL).
She won majority votes during an ordinary congress.
Mukabalisawas first elected as president in 2016 to replace Protais Mitali who was accused of embezzling Rwf63 million ($0.09 million) from the party’s account.
Speaking during the congress, she urged the party members to work together by focusing on playing their role in national developments.
She further praised the flawless cooperation of political parties in Rwanda and said that they are productive in building the country because they all work for Rwandans and put their interests first and join together in discussions aimed at moving forward and fighting for the welfare of Rwandans.
“We should cooperate, take firm measures, we are together, we put together, we put Rwandaness first as we understand that it is a ritual and effort to build today and a better future that will lead us to our determined goal of being a developed country, free from divisions and hatred” She added
