Senegal won CAN 2021 competition against Egypt (4-2) on penalties, taking the African Cup of Nations final (AFCON) for the first time after two previous defeats in AFCON finals in 20o2 and 2019.
They entered into the penalties to earn their victory on Sunday after the final ended goalless following extra time.
The winning shot was sent into the Egyptian net by Sadio Mané who had nevertheless failed a penalty awarded in the 3rd minute of the first part of the game.
Coach Aliou Cissé, who led the team was a player who missed a crucial penalty in the 2002 final defeat and was the coach when the team was defeated in the finals three years ago.
