The Rwandan Franc (RWF) reached its weakest point against the U.S. Dollar ($USD), with $1 USD now trading at 1,404.04 RWF as of February 4, 2025, 02:00 UTC on the international market. This marks the highest exchange rate recorded for the USD against the Rwandan currency in recent months.

This development follows a steady increase from the previous day’s rate of 1,402.15 RWF. Over the last 30 days, the dollar has traded between a low of 1,383.76 RWF and a high of 1,401.39 RWF, averaging 1,390.19 RWF. The dollar’s strength represents a 1.07% rise within the month.

Over a 90-day period, the USD hit a low of 1,363.53 RWF and averaged 1,380.06 RWF, showing a 2.74% increase.

The Euro (EUR) and British Pound (GBP) have also fluctuated against the Rwandan Franc. On February 3, 2025, 1 EUR was valued at 1,432.47 RWF, down from a recent high of 1,466.98 RWF on January 30. The British Pound stood at 1,740.68 RWF, a drop from 1,772.83 RWF just a day earlier.

The weakening of the Franc could increase the cost of imported goods and services, placing pressure on local businesses and consumers. On the flip side, exporters may benefit from improved competitiveness on the global.
