Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Olivier Nduhungirehe, officially received copies of Letters of Credence of four newly appointed ambassadors to Rwanda today. The ceremony marked Rwanda’s renewed diplomatic relations with the United Kingdom, India, Venezuela, and Italy.
The new envoys presented their Letters of Credence to Minister Nduhungirehe in a formal ceremony held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The diplomats include Ms. Alison Heather Thorpe, the High Commissioner-designate of the United Kingdom; Mr. Mirdu Pawan Das, the High Commissioner-designate of India; Ms. Fátima Yesenia Fernandes Juárez, the Ambassador-designate of Venezuela; and Mr. Mauro Massoni, the Ambassador-designate of Italy.
Minister Nduhungirehe welcomed the new ambassadors, congratulating them on their appointments and expressing appreciation for the strong bilateral ties that exist between Rwanda and their respective countries. He highlighted the importance of continued collaboration and expressed optimism about the potential for further strengthening these partnerships.
“The relationship between Rwanda and your nations has been characterized by mutual respect and cooperation,” said Minister Nduhungirehe. “We are committed to working together to build on these foundations and explore new avenues for collaboration in various sectors.”
Each of the newly accredited envoys expressed their commitment to deepening relations with Rwanda, emphasizing their readiness to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas such as trade, investment, education, and cultural exchange.
