Rwanda records two-more COVID-19 deaths, 59 new cases

Rwanda has recorded 59 new Covid-19 cases, while two-more new deaths have been reported bringing the total to 340.

According to the Ministry of Health, two people who died include a woman aged 89 from Nyamagabe district and 93-year old man from Ngororero district.

A statement released last night further shows that 59 people caught the virus while 178 recovered.

Rwanda’s confirmed the first Coronavirus case on 14th March 2020. Since then, 25 773 people have been tested positive of whom 24 333 have recovered, 1100 are active cases while 340 have died (1.3%).

A total of 350, 400 people have been vaccinated since Rwanda began countrywide inoculation program on 5th March 2021.

Government has urged public to adhere to COVID-19 health guidelines, wearing masks, respecting social distancing and frequently washing hands with soap and sanitizers.
