The Ministry of Health (MINISANTE) this Tuesday reported a record 86 Covid-19 recoveries in a single day, which is the highest number since the pandemic was first confirmed in Rwanda in March this year.
The cumulative number of confirmed cases has surged to 2,171 but the country has put a good fight where recoveries now stands at 1,478 representing 68 per cent of those who have recovered from the disease.
In recent weeks the number of cases reported daily had been higher but in recent days the infections has again slowed down which is praised in part for the tight measures the Rwandan government has deployed to combat the spread of the virus.
The number of deaths so far in the country stands at seven following two deaths in a row, the latest was reported on Sunday, August 9 after another reported death a day before on Saturday, August 8.
The Ministry of Health has also reported that it has conducted about 309,653 Covid-19 tests across the country.
