Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) have agreed to continue improve bilateral exchange of information, goods, expertise and join efforts to stop the spread of the COVID-19.
The invigoration of the latest measures were taken during bilateral meetings between the Congolese and Rwandan officials held this Thursday, May 28 at Gisenyi, Rubavu in order to promote cross-border cooperation and strengthen surveillance of the Covid-19 pandemic and trade between the two countries.
Leading the talks were Dr Daniel Ngamije, Rwandan Minister of Health, Prof. Anastase Shyaka Minister of Local Government and Soraya Hakuziyaremye, Minister of Commerce. While the DRC was represented by its deputy Minister of Health, Albert Mipeti and deputy Minister of the Interior Innocent Bokele.
During the meetings, it was a question of studying and putting in place concrete mechanisms to prevent the risk of spread of the Covid-19 pandemic, and to secure the movement of people and goods between the two neighbors.
