Today, the new Minister in charge of Local Government, Jean-Claude Musabyimana, was sworn in before the President of the Republic of Rwanda in the early afternoon at Village Urugwiro.

President Paul Kagame said that the attributions to the new minister have more weight, he will be evaluated not in words but in his achievements. His oath shows his powers clearly. Let him refer to it. I hope Musabyimana understands his duties and is willing to work with his colleagues to fulfill his mission.

President Kagame appointed Musabyimana as minister of local government to replace Jean-Marie-Vianney Gatabazi in a statement released from the Prime Minister’s office on Thursday, November 10, 2022.

Musabyimana was the Permanent Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Animal Resources (MINAGRI), prior to that he was the Mayor of Musanze District, then Governor of the Northern Province, before returning to the position of PS he previously held.
