Stephen Musaale was unanimously elected as the president of the Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) at its meeting over the weekend, a development hailed by his colleagues in Rwanda.
The active member of Abakambwe replaces Eddie Balaba Mugarura who was the president since April 2017. Musaale won the election by 20 to 5 votes.
While addressing the executive committee the new RCA president said, “Cricket is only what it is in Rwanda because of the commitment of our people, partners and hundreds of volunteers around the country,”
“I am honoured to serve in this position and am committed to making cricket stronger and a game that we can all be proud of” He added.
In his final remarks, the outgoing president Balaba congratulated the new board and wished them all the best of luck for the new tenure.
The rest of the board members retained their roles; Audifax Byiringiro and Julius Mbaraga remained as the vice president and secretary general respectively while Srinath Vardhineni retained his position as treasurer and Sonia Uwimana kept her role as women representative.
