The Confederation of Africa President Dr Patrice Motsepe has invited all 54 member associations of the Football Confederation (CAF) for an extraordinary meeting.
The meeting will be held in a special session on the sidelines of the final of the 25th Champions League on Saturday July 17th.
Initially, the meeting was scheduled for next November, however it was brought forward later this month at the request of the president of the CAF Finance Committee, the Moroccan Fouzi Lekjaa, who expressed his willingness to cover the accommodation costs of members of the CAF Executive Committee and of the presidents of the national member associations to take part in the said meeting.
In his correspondence addressed to the presidents of the member federations of the continent, the CAF president, indicated that this extraordinary meeting will look at the changes that CAF is currently operating.
The invitation further indicated that it will look at the strategies to be adopted in order to make them sustainable in the medium and long term.
Patrice Motsepe, who is keen on the presence of all the presidents of the member associations, asked for their indulgence: “I am aware that this meeting was called at very short notice and I would like to ask for your indulgence.”
In addition to the 54 presidents of the national federations, the 6 presidents of the geographical areas are also invited.
The final of the 25th Champions League will be played on that date at 8:00 p.m. UT at the Mohamed in Casablanca, Morocco between Egyptian giant Al Ahly taking on Kaizer Chiefs from South Africa.
