Naomie Nishimwe, 20, was crowned Miss Rwanda 2020 this Saturday night amidst applause at the fully packed Intare Conferences Arena in Rusororo, Kigali ans the event was also watched by many viewers on TV.
As an award, Nishimwe received a brand new Suzuki car, she will also have a salary of eight hundred thousand Rwandan francs per month for a year courtesy of African Improved Foods (AIF), as well as various additional gifts granted by sponsors.
Nishimwe, who had just completed her six-year high school was noticed during the pre-selection of candidates for Miss Rwanda 2020 in the City of Kigali. Nineteen other young girls reached at this final competition.
Nishimwe who became Miss Photogenic distinguished herself for the 8th Edition of the beauty competition in the country. She succeeds Meghan Nimwiza, winner of the crown in 2019.
The other two runners were Phiona Umwiza elected Miss Congeniality, and Denise Mutesi. Nicole Ndenga Teta became Miss Heritage; while Alliance Irasubiza became Miss Popularity.
The Jury, chaired by Diogenes Ntarindwa, was composed of James Munyaneza, editor of The New Times; Sherrie Silver, singer artist; and Evelyne Umererwa, TVR presenter.
