The GSMA MWC 2024 is set to return to Kigali Convention Center from October 29-31, 2024, bringing together Africa’s largest and most influential connectivity event. The conference will gather innovators and political leaders from across the continent, all focused on advancing Africa’s digital economy and driving socio-economic growth.
MWC Kigali will feature keynotes and panel discussions centered around four main themes: Connected Continent, The AI Future, FinTech, and Africa’s Digital DNA. Confirmed speakers include notable industry leaders such as Airtel Africa’s CEO Sunil Taldar, Amini’s Founder & CEO Kate Kallot, GSMA Director General Mats Granryd, ITU Secretary-General Doreen Bogdan-Martin, Lelapa AI’s CEO Pelonomi Moiloa, and MTN Group’s FinTech CEO Serigne Dioum.
For the first time, the GSMA Ministerial Programme will be held in Africa, marking a significant step in advancing the continent’s digital agenda. This programme will gather key telecommunications leaders from across Africa to discuss critical policy and regulatory issues for the region.
The Mobile for Development (M4D) Theatre will also return, serving as a platform for sessions on AI for impact, humanitarian innovation, climate and agriculture, digital inclusion, and gender equity. The Mobile Money Leadership Forum will explore emerging trends and innovations in mobile financial services, cementing its role in shaping the future of Africa’s digital economy.
