A delegation of eight Members of Parliament from Ghana visited the Rwandan Parliament, specifically the House of Deputies, on Monday, 28, 2024, as part of a trip aimed at sharing experiences.
The MPs observed that the establishment of a Forum for Political Parties in Rwanda is one of the aspects they have learned because it allows each political party to contribute constructive ideas for national development.
The Rwandan Parliament’s House of Deputies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Parliament of Ghana regarding cooperation between the two legislative bodies, which was expected to further strengthen their relationship in July 2022.
In July 2022, both parliaments planned initiatives to enhance the skills of MPs, including study tours where Rwandan members would visit their counterparts in Ghana and vice versa, conferences, forums, training sessions, and other international activities.
Both countries already have a partnership; in June 2022, Rwanda’s Food and Drugs Authority (FDA Rwanda) and its counterpart in Ghana signed an agreement for collaboration on the production of medicines and vaccines. The agreement aims to prepare FDA Rwanda to reach stage 3 and promote vaccine production in both countries.
