Rwanda Utilities Regulatory Authority (RURA) has announced revised fuel prices that will last for the next two months before another review is announced.
According to a statement published by RURA on Sunday, the revised prices will come into effect on April 03, 2023 at 19:00.
These new prices show a slight reduction in prices for a litre of fuel by Rwf 0.16 per cent at Rwf1, 528 from Rwf 1,544 (0.16 per cent).
Diesel is reduced at Rwf1, 518 from Rwf1, 562 (0.44 per cent) as compared to the previous announcement in February.
In addition, the statement further reads that fuel pump prices are revised downwards in line with a decrease in petroleum products prices registered in the international market.
While fuel price movements are the major drivers of commodity prices in the country, there is optimism that revised pump prices by RURA may ease going forward following the current inflation rate at 20.7 pct year on year in January 2023.
