Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed Ali has concluded a two-day working visit to Rwanda where he had arrived on Sunday August 29, 2021 and held talks with President Paul Kagame.
“Thank you to President @PaulKagame for the warm welcome afforded to me and my delegation. We held good discussions on bilateral and regional issues of mutual significance.” The Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy tweeted.
President Kagame with his guest discussed issues on various topics of mutual interest, including issues specific to the two countries and the region as well as current world affairs. President Kagame also hosted a banquet in honor of the Prime Minister.
Rwanda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Dr. Vincent Biruta saw off the Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy at Kigali international Airport, according to the foreign ministry.
Dr Abiy Ahmed Ali last visited Rwanda in 2019 while attending the 25th commemoration of the 1994 genocide against the Tutsi while President Kagame also visited Ethiopia on May 25, 2018.
Rwanda and Ethiopia maintain cordial relations based on mutual respect and cooperation agreements in the interest of the citizens of both countries. The areas of partnership are in fields like education, tourism and mutual legal assistance, media, sports and culture.
