The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda as the joint hosts for the 2027 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Patrice Motsepe, CAF president, declared the tripartite bid the winner of the hosting rights for the 2027 AFCON in Cairo, Egypt on Wednesday.
“The future of African football has never been brighter and in the near future, one of our nations will win the World Cup,” Motsepe said.
As expected, Morocco won the rights to host the 2025 edition of the Cup of Nations after Nigeria and Algeria withdrew their bids.
The winners were announced after a voting session by members of the CAF executive. On Tuesday, Nigeria and the Benin Republic would also present a joint bid to host the competition.
