It has been a wretched start to the season for Bugesera football club with the last 3-2 away defeat to Etincelles FC to be their third loss this season.
The club is floundering in 13th position on the table, after three draws with Amagaju (2-2), Gorilla FC (2-2) and APR (1-1), on top of defeats to Mukuru ( 2-1), Sunrise (1-0), Musanze (1-0) and AS Kigali (1-0),
As if things have not been bad enough on the pitch for the Eastern Province based side, right now there’s apparent turmoil behind the scenes as well.
Reports on Tuesday, November 14, indicated that the club mutually agreed with head coach Eric Nshimiyimana to secretly exit the club.
According to the latest club announcement, Nshimiyimana has now left Bugesera FC following a formal announcement from the club, with his exit seemingly having been negotiated behind closed doors.
Indeed, last Sunday’s away defeat to Etincelles FC made it three league losses under coach Nshimiyimana which made the future of the coach to be under scrutiny especially after collecting only 9 points in 10 games.
Details of his exit emerged at the time, when the national league was postponed due to the international break, and Bugesera FC was supposed to face Marine.
Sources have also indicated that the club will immediately announce his replacement but they did not specify when exactly.
The former AS Kigali coach has spent 10 months having been appointed in January on a one-and-a-half-year deal that was supposed to keep him at the club until June 2024. He replaced Burundian Etienne Ndayiragije.
