The opening round of the 2023 All Africa Challenge Trophy kicked off this Wednesday morning, November 1, 2023 at Kigali Golf Club and Villas.
Among the countries participating in the three-day ladies golf tournament are Rwanda (host), Uganda, Kenya, Zambia, Burundi, Mauritius, and Tanzania.
Due to home advantage, Team Rwanda has a high sprint advantage thanks to its captain Jenny Linda. She drives off with Uganda’s captain Peace Kabasweka at 8:00 AM along with Annie Nsama (Zambia), and Francine Delloye (Mauritius).
According to the draw on Day-One, Linda Mugeni (Rwanda), will tee off at 9:00 AM playing with Ugandans, Judith Komugisha , Neema Olomi (Tanzania) and Beatrice d’ Arifat.
The other member of Rwanda’s team Matutina Irumva will take on Uganda’s Melon Kyomugisha, Razia Currimjee (Mauritius) and Tanzanian, Victoria Elias at 9:30 AM.
In addition to Monday, 30th October, there were practice rounds on 31st October. On Tuesday evening was the official flag raising ceremony.
Competition days are November 1st and 3rd, and the winner will be announced on November 3rd.
The tournament is sponsored by Rwanda Golf Union, Kigali Golf Resort and Villas, Royal and Ancient (R&A), BPR Bank and Simba Super Market.
