Amad Diallo scored his second goal of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations as holders Ivory Coast drew 1-1 with Cameroon in a high-quality Group F clash in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Manchester United forward curled Ivory Coast into the lead early in the second half, collecting a long pass from Ghislain Konan on the counter-attack and bending a fine strike into the far corner. It followed his winning goal against Mozambique in the opening match.

Elsewhere in Group F, Mozambique claimed their first-ever AFCON victory with a thrilling 3-2 win over Gabon in Agadir. Faisal Bangal and Geny Catamo put the Mambas in control before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang pulled one back. Goals from Diogo Calila and Alex Moucketou-Moussounda set up a tense finish, but Mozambique held on to make history and boost their hopes of reaching the knockout stage.
In Group E, Algeria booked their place in the last 16 after a 1-0 win over Burkina Faso in Rabat. Riyad Mahrez scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the first half, taking his tournament tally to three goals in two matches.
The 2019 champions showed defensive highlights after the break as Burkina Faso pushed for an equaliser, but Algeria held firm to go top of the group on six points.
Even with a conflict back at home, Sudan have kept the pressure on the pitch with a landmark result in Group E, recording their first AFCON win since 2012 with a 1-0 victory over Equatorial Guinea in Casablanca. Saul Coco’s own goal proved decisive, ending Sudan’s long wait for a tournament win and keeping them firmly in contention for the knockout stages.
Meanwhile, hosts Morocco were held to a 1-1 draw by Mali in Rabat. Both goals came from penalties after VAR interventions, with Brahim Diaz scoring for Morocco and Lassine Sinayoko equalising for Mali. Morocco remain top of the group and close to securing qualification.
In Group B, Angola and Zimbabwe shared the points after a 1-1 draw in Marrakech. Gelson Dala gave Angola the lead before Knowledge Musona equalised just before half-time. Both goalkeepers made key saves in the second half as neither side could find a winner.
With one round of group matches remaining, qualification remains finely balanced across several sections as teams battle for places in the knockout stage in Morocco.
The tournament continues with today with Group A matches where Comoros takes on Mali in Casablanca, Zambia face hosts Morocco in Rabat and in Group B, Angola face Egypt who are through to the round of 16, while Zimbabwe battle South Africa in Marrakech.
These matches are part of the final round of group-stage fixtures as teams aim to secure places in the knockout stages of the tournament.
