For three days following the launch of the vaccination campaign against Covid-19 in Rwanda, the Ministry of Health unveiled this Monday, the number of people who had received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.
According to figures given by the ministry nearly 200,000 people have already received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine since the launch of the campaign on Friday, March 5.
“More than 37,000 people received a Covid-19 vaccine on the 3rd day, bringing the total number of vaccinated to nearly 200,000 Rwandans,” said the Ministry of Health.
“The priority groups currently vaccinated include health personnel, airport personnel, people suffering from co-morbidities or disabilities, traders and taxi drivers,” adds the Ministry.
Rwanda launched nationwide Covid-19 vaccination on Friday after it received more than 300,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccines from the COVAX initiative that was launched by the World Health Organization (WHO) to encourage equitable distribution of vaccines.
