Bruce Melodie is coming back to one of Kigali’s favorite comedy nights, and this time, fans have been counting the days.
The Rwandan singer, who’s built himself into one of the country’s biggest musical exports, will take the stage at Gen-Z Comedy this Thursday, September 10, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village in Camp Kigali. It’ll be his first appearance at the show in 613 days, and organizers are billing it as more than just another guest slot — Bruce Melodie is headlining the night’s musical performance.
As always, Gen-Z Comedy will open with laughs before the music takes over. This edition brings together a solid lineup of comedians — Kadudu, Clement Inkirigito, Musa and Kandi, Michael Sengazi, Patrick Rusine, and Rumi and Doddy — with Fally Merci, the show’s usual host, running the night as he does every two months.
The last time Bruce Melodie stood on this stage was back in January 2025, and it wasn’t your typical performance. Beyond singing, he sat down with the crowd for a candid chat, opening up about his career and his album Colorful Generation while weaving music through the conversation. He also made it clear then that music isn’t going anywhere for him — it’s what he knows, and what he’s committed to.
A lot’s happened since. Bruce Melodie has kept releasing new music, kept performing, and kept his name near the top of Rwanda’s entertainment scene. He just wrapped his “Summer Country Tour,” which took him across different cities to connect with fans, and he’s already teasing his next single, “Irya 4,” as part of what’s shaping up to be another busy stretch of releases.
So when he steps out at Gen-Z Comedy this Thursday, it won’t just be a musician making an appearance — it’ll be a homecoming of sorts, on a stage built for exactly this kind of mix: comedy, music, and the kind of close, unscripted connection between artists and their audience that Gen-Z Comedy has become known for.
