Rwanda national football U20 Team has headed to Tanzania to participate in the CECAFA U20 tournament, which will determine the two teams that will represent the region in the Africa U20 Cup of Nations.
In the early hours of Friday, October 4, 2024, the players departed from Kigali for Dar es Salaam, shortly after U20 coach Eric Nshimiyimana announced the list of 19 players to participate in the tournament.
The U20 Amavubi is in Group A, which includes well-known teams from the region such as Kenya, the host country Tanzania, and Sudan, which hosted a similar tournament in 2022, a year when Rwanda did not participate.
Rwanda will start its campaign against Sudan on October 8, followed by a match against Kenya on October 10, and will face Tanzania on October 13, concluding with a match against Djibouti on October 15, 2024.
The matches will take place at three venues: Azam Complex, KMC Stadium, and Major General Isamuhyo Stadium, all located in the city of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
