Four hundred forty-three young Rwandans have completed the 15th cohort of the Indangamirwa National Civic Training Program, spending 45 days at Nkumba Civic Training Center in Burera District.
Prime Minister Dr. Justin Nsengiyumva urged the graduates to use the lessons learned to challenge false narratives about Rwanda. “Those who disparage our country must be confronted with the truths you have acquired,” he said, emphasizing the program’s role in rebuilding Rwanda after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

“The program trains Rwandans to strengthen unity, share a common vision, and work together toward sustainable development,” Nsengiyumva added. He encouraged graduates to preserve the values gained in the program, embody Rwanda positively wherever they go, and resist negative behaviors such as substance abuse and sexual immorality.
Tamara Mukwende, a participant, said the program deepened her understanding of her role in national development and improved her Kinyarwanda skills. “I feel more capable and ready to contribute to my country,” she said.

Minister of Unity and Civic Engagement Dr. Bizimana Jean Damascène noted that since the program’s inception, over 5,500 young people have been trained, including students from abroad and in international schools in Rwanda.
He said, “Today’s graduating cohort consists of 443 participants, including 208 girls and 235 boys. Among them, 105 study abroad, and 103 attend international schools in Rwanda, all coming from districts across the country.”
