UK Welcomes HM the King’s Leadership in Strengthening Bilateral Ties, Promoting Regional Stability, Fostering National Development.

Rabat – The United Kingdom welcomes the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in strengthening Moroccan-British relations, promoting regional stability, and fostering national development.

This position was expressed in a Joint Communiqué signed, Sunday in Rabat, following talks between Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, and the Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, David Lammy.

“Their Majesties King Mohammed VI and King Charles III continue to anchor Moroccan-United Kingdom ties,” the document emphasizes, adding that “their leadership has continuously fostered the stability and high-level commitment necessary to develop an ambitious, forward-looking strategic partnership.”

Regionally, the UK praised the “initiatives launched by His Majesty King Mohammed VI to progress peace, stability and socio-economic development in Africa, notably, notably, “the Initiative of the Atlantic African States Process and the “International Royal Initiative to facilitate access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic ocean,” thus recognizing the Sovereign’s enlightened choice to make the development of the African continent a strategic priority, focusing on pragmatic and solidarity-based cooperation.

Regarding His Majesty, the King’s continued commitment to the Palestinian issue, the UK commends the “key role played by His Majesty King Mohammed VI as Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.”

The UK also welcomes and supports the “major reforms undertaken by Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI,” the Communiqué concludes.
