AS Kigali president Shema Fabrice on Monday resigned from his position after four years.
Shema the owner and managing director of Africa Medical Supplier ltd in his resignation letter seen by this publication said that he resigned on personal grounds.
In the letter of resignation, he wrote that in the last four and half years, I was privileged to chair to win 2 Peace Cup trophies and Super Cup, this achievement demonstrates the potential of AS Kigali FC.
“Due personal reasons, I have taken the decision to resign as president today” the statement further stated.
Inside sources say that he resigned after the team was eliminated from the Amahoro Cup, however, he pledged to continue to support the club and young talent.
AS Kigali ended the 2022/23 season in fourth position, the team pulled out of the Peace Cup a trophy they won in 2022.
