Rwanda is seeking to leverage the 56th World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, to attract investment and foster partnerships that could benefit Africa, government officials said.
The annual meeting, which began on January 19, 2026, brings together more than 3,000 participants, including 56 heads of state. Representing Rwanda are Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Amb. Olivier Nduhungirehe, Minister of Technology and Innovation Ingabire Paula, and Rwanda Development Board CEO Jean-Guy Afrika.
Speaking to RBA, Amb. Nduhungirehe said the forum provides a platform for Rwanda to engage global leaders and promote opportunities across Africa.
“Rwanda will hold discussions with leaders from around the world to explore how to harness collaboration and opportunities across our continent,” he said. He noted that Africa’s youthful population presents significant economic potential.
Nduhungirehe highlighted that Rwanda brings to the forum its experience in economic transformation and innovation, particularly achievements in technology and development.
The theme of this year’s meeting, “A Spirit of Dialogue,” comes as the world faces conflicts and misunderstandings among nations. Nduhungirehe said the WEF provides an opportunity to address global challenges through discussion.
“It is a moment to talk about how problems can be resolved through dialogue and exchange of ideas, especially in areas that advance economic growth and citizens’ well-being,” he said.
The 56th WEF gathers participants from 130 countries, including heads of state, business executives, representatives of international organizations, researchers, and artists. Discussions focus on pressing global issues and ways to foster cooperation.
Rwanda’s delegation hopes the forum will attract partnerships and investments that support Africa’s growth while showcasing the country’s experience in innovation, technology, and sustainable development.
