With the 2025/2026 National Football Season slated to kick off on August 15, 2025, preparations at Rayon Sports FC have shifted into high gear, and the transfer window is buzzing like never before.

Before the league action begins, fans will get an early treat when Rayon Sports faces archrivals APR FC in the FERWAFA Super Cup, scheduled for August 2, 2025. But that’s just the opening act—because behind the scenes, local Blue’s “Gikundiro” is building something big.

Under the leadership of club president Thadée Twagirayesu, Rayon Sports isn’t just training—they’re transforming. With an aggressive recruitment strategy and a clear vision, the club has set out to build a squad that blends youth, experience, and international talent.

Mark your calendars for August 15—Rayon Sports Day (Umunsi w’Igikundiro) 2025 will feature a spectacular international showdown against Yanga Africans of Tanzania at the Amahoro Stadium. This friendly is more than a celebration—it’s a statement.

Among the high profile moves the club, is 18 year-old Chancelor Ndong Mengue, a promising striker from Union Sportive d’Oyem (Gabon), he arrived in Kigali to finalize talks—another exciting prospect this week.

Should Ndong Mengue join the squad, he would likely be one of the foreign additions helping the club strengthen their attacking options. The player is highly regarded and viewed as a promising young talent with potential to grow—another exciting prospect. at Rayon Sports.

The Blues have secured 20-year-old Congolese striker Chadrack Bingi Belo, fresh off a 23-goal haul over two seasons with DC Motema Pembe. Gloire Tambwe (20), a graduate of Warriors Football Academy in Lubumbashi, joins on a two-year deal.

Aimable Ntarindwa, a solid defensive midfielder, has made the switch from Mukura Victory Sports, committing to two years with Rayon.

A Creative spark Mohamed Chelly, a 24-year-old Tunisian playmaker, has joined the club on a one-season deal. He previously impressed at Océano Club de Kerkennah and with Tunisia’s U23 national team.

In goal, Malian goalkeeper Drissa Kouyaté (26) has joined on a long-term contract running until 2027, while club legend Eric “Bakame” Ndayishimiye returns—this time as Goalkeepers Coach.

New recruit Chris Rushema has already hit the ground running in training. Ally Serumogo has committed to two more years, showing loyalty and continuity.

Left-back Prince Michel Musore, previously with Vital’O FC (Burundi), has inked a two-year deal to bolster the defensive flanks.

Emery Bayisenge, the experienced Amavubi defender, is back in blue, penning a one-year deal with Rayon Sports. His leadership will be crucial at the back.

Abeddy Biramahire, one of last season’s top scorers, has extended his stay by two more years, choosing to continue his love story with Gikundiro. Rwandan-born Rivaldo (Abdelaziz Harerimana) has signed a two-year contract.

And on the sidelines, new assistant coach Haruna Ferouz—formerly with Vital’O and Flambeau du Centre—has joined the technical bench. The tactical setup will now be spearheaded by new head coach Afhamia Lotfi, who officially begins training duties on June 30, 2026.

With an electrifying mix of homegrown stars, regional talent, and international firepower, Rayon is not just preparing for a new season—they’re redefining their ambitions.

Whether it’s on Rayon Sports Day, in the Super Cup, or throughout the league campaign, one thing’s certain—Gikundiro is ready to fight for glory.

Rayon has so far signed 11 players, including 6 foreign players. If the current two players finalize their deals with the club, the total number of foreign signings will rise to 8.

These new additions will join the 9 other players already in the squad—unless the club fails to part ways with those they intend to release.
