Even with new signing Moussa Aruna Majaliwa left out of the squad, Rayon Sport FC put on the show in impressive surroundings to lift the Super Cup trophy after whooping the Army APR fc 3-0 at Kigali Pele Stadium over the weekend.

Majaliwa who was signed from Bumamuru FC was left out of the game because his release letter did not arrive on time.

“We didn’t want to take a risk in the game, since it could be a violation of the rules and regulations of the game, but we are hopeful Majaliwa will feature in the opening league game against Gasogi FC” a source from the club revealed.

After a largely unforgettable 90 minutes of the season curtain raiser, Rayon looked to have won it.

Charles Baale netted the opener with a header in the sixth minute of the half hour, firing the local Blues into a confident mood.

In the second half, Kalisa Rashid comfortably made it 2-0 through penalty, while Ojera Joackiam put the icing on the cake to make it 3-0.

The 3-0 win guided Rayon Sport to their first silverware of the season, and It was also their second win against APR FC in as many games, having also beaten the army side in the Peace Cup final at the end of last season.

In addition to lifting the trophy, Rayon walked away with Rwf 10 Million as prize money.
