According to the final results announced by the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Yoweri Museveni secured 71.65 percent of the vote, compared to 24.72 percent for his main opponent, Bobi Wine.
President Yoweri Museveni has therefore won a seventh consecutive term. He amended the Constitution twice to remove presidential age limits and term limits.
On the African continent, only Teodoro Obiang Nguema of Equatorial Guinea and Paul Biya of Cameroon have spent more time in power than Museveni.
