President Paul Kagame this Friday in Nyagatare presided over the signing of performance-based contracts, Imihigo in a ceremony where last year’s best performers were recognised before the signing of new Imihigo.
In his remarks, President Kagame urged government officials to be accountable in their responsibilities, and to improve service delivery.
The signing of the Performance Contracts for the year 2020-2021 took place between the President of the Republic and Districts Mayors, Provincial Governors and the central administration.
The head of state said that it’s not just signing Imihigo that counts but the important thing is to work hard to achieve the objectives of good development and security conditions which are the main expectations of citizens.
Prime Minister Dr. Edouard Ngirente said that the 2019/20 Imihigo were based on the principles that the results would be evaluated annually, and the impact to the community will be assessed after three years.
The three best performing districts for last year who were awarded during the Imihigo Signing Ceremony were Nyaruguru, Huye and Rwamagana.
