Faustin-Archange Touadéra, President of the Central African Republic (CAR), arrived in Kigali this afternoon for a two-day working visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.
Rwanda and CAR enjoy a longstanding partnership rooted in military, security, and economic cooperation. Rwanda has played a significant role in supporting CAR’s stability, notably through the deployment of its troops under both UN peacekeeping operations and bilateral arrangements. Rwandan forces have been instrumental in providing force protection, securing key installations, and training CAR’s military to enhance its operational capacity.
Beyond security cooperation, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing “African solutions to African problems.” Over the years, CAR leaders and delegations have frequently visited Rwanda to learn from its post-genocide reconstruction, reconciliation model, and governance reforms.
President Touadéra’s visit is expected to further deepen collaboration in these areas as both countries continue working together toward peace, stability, and sustainable development in the region.
