Jose Maria Bakero, a Spanish former professional footballer who played for Real Sociedad and Barcelona will arrive in Rwanda on Saturday, 05th February 2022 for a 9-day visit to Rwanda (5-14/02/2022) within the framework of potential partnership with FERWAFA in football development related projects in his capacity as Barcelona scouting director.
On 8th February 2022, The legendary Barcelona FC midfielder who was instrumental during successful era of the famous Dream Team Between 1988 and 1997 playing 329 matches overall and winning 13 trophies for the Catalans will meet with Rwanda’s men and women first division league team Head coaches as well as the Men’s Senior National Team technical staff to exchange experiences and know-how.
Jose Maria Bakero will also visit different football academies and watch the on-going league matches throughout his stay in Rwanda.
During his visit, Bakero will also experience and discover the beauty of remarkable Rwanda traveling to Volcanoes National Park as well as Akagera National Park and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial to pay respects to the victims and to learn more about the Genocide against the Tutsi.(End)
