Rwandan President Paul Kagame has dropped long serving Minister Generadine Mukeshimana and moved up former State Minister Dr. Ildephonse Musafiri as new Minister of Agriculture and Animal Resource Development (Minagri).
Mukeshimana has served in the ministry since 2014.
Prior to the communiqué issued on March 2, 2023 Musafiri was serving as Minister of State at the same ministry since August 2022.
Previously, he served as head of strategy and government policy committee in the Office of the President.
He is a member of the board of directors of the Central Bank of Rwanda, and a professor at the University of Rwanda, Department of Economics and Business, where he taught and was the head of the Department of Economics.
The Shakeup has also seen Dr Telesphore Ndabamenye named as the Director General of Rwanda Agriculture Board (RAB) replacing Dr. Alexandre Rutikanga.
