President Paul Kagame has appointed Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana Minister of Health, replacing Dr. Daniel Ngamije, a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office said.
The same statement said that Dr. Yvan Butera has been appointed Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, replacing Dr. Col. Tharcisse Mpunga appointed Director General of the Medical and Teaching Center of the University of Kigali.
Dr. Sabin Nsanzimana held the position of Director of the University Teaching Hospital of Butare (CHUB), a post obtained shortly after being relieved of his position as Director of the Biomedical Center (RBC) in December 2021.
Dr Sabin Nsanzimana replaces Dr Ngamije Daniel who had been Minister of Health since February 2020, replacing Dr Diane Gashumba, who became Ambassador of Rwanda.
