President Kagame this morning delivered remarks during the opening ceremony of the 11th African Air Chiefs Symposium, held under the theme “Strategic Airlift”.
The annual Symposium, this year co-hosted by Rwanda Defence Force and the U.S. Air Forces in Europe-Air Forces in Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA), is a forum for Air Force heads from across Africa to come together to address regional and continental issues, as well as increase cooperation among African Air Forces.
This year’s Symposium will feature small-group sessions, a senior enlisted leader forum and various cultural events to strengthen partnerships between participating nations.
The event will also serve as an opportunity to expand membership of the Association of African Air Forces (AAAF), a voluntary and non-political organization open to African Air Forces and the United States. Rwanda joined the AAAF in September 2017 and has been co-chairing it since 2019.
