The former prosecutor-general, Jean-Bosco Mutangana has been arrested by Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) for allegedly using forged documents.
Mutangana was arrested on Monday for using forged documents, but details for the use of forged documents have not been disclosed pending investigations
According to Rwandan laws, the former chief prosecutor risks between 5 and 7 years and/or a fine of Rwf3 million and Rwf5 million if found guilty of forgery.
Mutangana who worked as a prosecutor for about 20 years and served as Prosecutor General until last year is currently in private practice as an advocate, after his admission to Rwanda Bar Association as a Senior Counsel.
