Rwanda Investigation Bureau (RIB) has said the National Football Association (FERWAFA) president Shema Ngoga Fabrice has been arrested over allegations of issuing a bouncing bank cheaque.
According to the RIB spokesperson Dr. Theirry Murangira, Shema was arrested on Tuesday August 1, on charges of issuing a bounced cheque, he is detained at Kicukiro station while investigations continue into other offences he is accused of,” Muragira said.
Reports confirm that the FA president had also been questioned by investigation but the other details of the other offences have not been disclosed.
Businessman Shema was elected new FERWAFA president in August last year after winning 51 votes out 53 replacing Alphonse Munyantwali.
