Following their talks, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Mr. Nasser Bourita and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Worship of the Republic of Costa Rica Mr. Arnoldo André Tinoco, on a working visit to the Kingdom, signed a Joint Declaration marking this new phase in bilateral relations, based on a shared vision of solid cooperation which respects each country’s specificities.

In this document, the two ministers reaffirmed their shared commitment to reinforcing diplomatic ties between Morocco and Costa Rica and stressed willingness to promote fruitful cooperation, rooted in key principles such as transparency, mutual respect, sustainable development, environmental protection and human rights.

Tinoco took this opportunity to commend Morocco’s progress in various fields, highlighting the Kingdom’s sustained efforts toward regional stability, development, South-South cooperation, and the fight against transnational threats.

This statement reflects the growing recognition of Morocco’s active and structural role, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, on the regional and international stages.

At the sectoral level, the two parties agreed to bolster their cooperation in areas of mutual interest, including agriculture, clean energy, scientific research, responsible tourism and the environment, as well as technical exchanges.

Furthermore, Morocco and Costa Rica expressed their commitment to promoting economic investment and the exchange of trade information, in coordination with the relevant institutions of both countries.

They also spoke of promoting official visits and technical exchanges between their respective entities, under the coordination of the appropriate diplomatic channels.

The two ministers further agreed to hold, in the near future, an initial meeting of political consultations, thereby reflecting shared willingness to anchor their partnership according to a momentum of regular and structured political dialogue.
