The representatives of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states expressed their sincere thanks and profound appreciation to His Majesty King Mohammed VI for the strong support and clear solidarity demonstrated toward its Gulf brothers in the face of Iranian aggression.

These remarks were made during the 8th Morocco-GCC Joint Ministerial Meeting, held via videoconference, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, MFA Nasser Bourita, the Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Mr. Jassem Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, as well as Their Highnesses and Excellencies the ministers and representatives of the Council’s member states.

In their interventions, the Gulf ministers lauded Morocco’s sincere brotherly support and active solidarity, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, particularly during the delicate circumstances the region is currently undergoing, marked by unjustified Iranian military escalation and repeated infringements on the sovereignty of the Gulf States.

They emphasized that these honorable positions reflect the strength of the brotherly and historical relations between Morocco and the Gulf countries, and illustrate the special nature of the personal and sincere brotherly ties uniting His Majesty the King with His brothers, the leaders of the Council’s member states.

This unified position also reflects the high regard of the Gulf countries for the initiative taken by His Majesty the King, from the very outset of the Iranian aggression, to engage in a series of telephone conversations with His brothers, Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC States.

These conversations notably involved His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State of the United Arab Emirates; His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, Sovereign of the Kingdom of Bahrain; His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Council of Ministers; and His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.

On this occasion, His Majesty the King reaffirmed the Kingdom of Morocco’s strong condemnation of the abject aggressions targeting the sovereignty of these brotherly States and the security of their territories, as well as His Majesty the King’s support and full backing of these countries in all legitimate measures they deem appropriate to preserve their security and the well-being of their citizens.
